Frankly, I don’t have good enough health insurance to get into mushroom foraging. That’s what I realized after finding what I’m almost positive were perfectly edible wild oyster mushrooms on a walk near our house. Not quite positive enough to take them home and eat them for dinner, though, as it turns out. All my dreams of attaining the ancient wisdom of the forest crone coming face to face with my acutely modern aversion to risk.

Kacey Musgraves released this 20 minute meditation on the woods for Record Store Day. It’s lovely. It longs to be outside even as it is inevitably trapped – by its medium and by its very nature as a recorded thing – indoors.
