Kali Uchis // Sincerely,

Post by Misha //
I’ve listened to this album every morning for the past few days. It’s especially good in the morning, as a way to begin.
I used to do the same thing with Kali Uchis’ last album, Orquídeas, in my apartment in New York. It was one of a few things that could really make me feel centered and calm for an hour or so, beating out the car horns and mental buzz of upcoming obligations. Her songs always sounds like gratitude to me. Or they make me feel grateful for all the things I have to be grateful about.
Now, I live in a new place where this music feels a bit less at odds with my surroundings. As Heaven is a Home… plays, I look out the window and see pink rhododendron blooms, rain dripping off their petals. I’m grateful for the rhododendrons and the rain. And the quiet, and peppermint tea, and short story collections, and for moving slow. It feels kind of corny, being grateful for things (which is maybe why I like to concentrate the feeling into the length of one album) and it also feels really good.
You can buy the album in a truly dizzying array of formats here.
