Nuovo Testamento // Picture Perfect
Post by Misha //
This song makes me wonder when the last time I went dancing was. Which itself is a sort of answer to the question: long enough that I can’t readily remember when it was. Anyway when I used to go out dancing I loved when they put songs like this on. The best dance songs are jet fuel. They propel you. They’re like extra oxygen pumped into the room.
The other thing this song makes me think about is a night I went dancing in Rome. The music was not as good as this, unfortunately. American Top 40 garbage. I was of an age when I didn’t yet know that in order to find a cool place to go dancing, in general you shouldn’t ask to be directed to the club. So yes, the music was bad and the Italian men were doing the things they are famous for. Still, though, despite it all there was a romance to it. We got a ride with a man who drove us in his tiny Fiat very fast through the breathtakingly narrow streets of Rome. I remember the thrill of passing another vehicle close enough that the mirrors almost clipped. So many things were like that at that time. Driving a tiny Italian car too fast into blind corners.
I don’t know when I last went dancing but I would like to dance all night to this music. Until the sun comes up over Rome.
